Reading List for the Near Future

Some reading I’d like to enjoy in the coming months.

  • Hutter, M. 2003. A Gentle Introduction to the Universal Algorithmic Agent AIXI. To appear in Artificial General Intelligence, Springer, 2006.
  • Barrett, L. et al., eds. 2002. Human Evolutionary Psychology. Princeton University Press.
  • Yudkowsky, E. 2005. A Technical Explanation of Technical Explanation. Published by SIAI.
  • Yudkowsky, E. 2006. Knowability of Friendly AI. Working draft.
  • Yudkowsky, E. 2006. Artificial Intelligence as a Positive and Negative Factor in Global Risk. To appear in Global Catastrophic Risks, Oxford University Press, 2007.
  • Yudkowsky, E. 2006. Cognitive Biases Potentially Affecting Judgment of Global Risks. To appear in Global Catastrophic Risks, Oxford University Press, 2007.

I’d like to start on these in January and start to really further my understanding of the technological singularity and transhumanism.

Interesting list. Of course, who are you kidding? Come March your reading list will be:

Seuss, Dr. 1963 Hop on Pop. Random House Books for Young Readers
Gaines, Ann 2005 Britney Spears (Blue Banner Biographies). Mitchell Lane Publishers

And they will take you the rest of 2007.

Yes, I wasted time on Amazon looking that up just to screw with you.
