Happy RSS Day

That’s right. Not only is there an RSS Day, apparently it’s today. I had no idea.

Like Khaled, it seems pretty unbelievable to me that there are so many people who still aren’t utilizing RSS. Get with it. Seriously.

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate, you could always subscribe to my RSS feed.

RSS is older than most people think. Before RSS there were several attempts at syndication standards that didn’t quite seem to cut it — or at least didn’t have enough of a following to cut it. However, restructuring the presentation layer of web data for other uses is obviously nothing new.

Wikipedia suggests it goes back to 1995, when Ramanathan V. Guha and others in Apple Computer’s Advanced Technology Group developed the Meta Content Framework.

Blah blah…

If you really don’t know, CommonCraft is always there for you.

Happy RSS Day!

RSS boggled my brain for along time. Its not easy to install, when I clicked on it, it opened far too many options. Most of us on the Internet, and I am more advanced then most, crumble at anything that is not simple to do.

I actually had one of my team come and sit on my machine and explain it to me. Know I subscribe to 20 different feeds and if I like a site I will take advantage of it.

The biggest thing is teaching people how to do it. Thanks for the post

Wow, a holiday and I didn’t even celebrate. I’ll have to make some RSS chiclet cupcakes or something for next year.

A holiday? Do we get a day off work???

Although the number of blogs are increasing exponentially, the number of active blogs is actually staying pretty level. It just shows that most aspects of life are already being blogged by someone out there.

I’m using Google reader at the moment, works a treat.

Giving your style sheets a holiday, how considerate of you!
For some reasons my comments keep disappearing.
