BitchX on MacOS X

  • The Technology entry posted on November 23rd, 2004.

Remember BitchX? I loved it. It’s so grossly old school. The black background of the shell terminal with the cheesy ASCII art. You know you love it!

BitchX brings back so many good times. Lame IRC takeovers, netsplit hacks, ssping.c, tcl scripts, eggdrop, #bifemunix and more. Well if you’re running X Chat on MacOS X, I suggest you get a clue. You’re not uber, kid. Install some BitchX on Darwin.

*o* CTCP VERSION reply from v10k: BitchX-1.0c19+ by panasync - Darwin 7.6.0 : Keep it to yourself!

Only BitchX can offer you the horrible lack of features and usability that the hax0r in you craves. The best part is, you don’t have to go through the pain of installing it on your hacked shell account anymore. All you have to do is fink it!

sudo fink install bitchx

Alternatively, you can also fink “bitchx-gtk.” Bitchx is based on ircII-Plutonium and more recent ircII-EPiC.

Have fun!
