Stephen Spielberg finally deigns to make a video game with game creator Louis Castle. And it’s for the Wii! Though the game won’t be available until May, the trailer has just been released to much online buzz.
If you pictured what it might look like already while reading the 2 sentences above, go ahead and throw that out of your mind. It looks like an explosive version of Jenga and some other interesting puzzle-type games that utilize the Wiimote’s abilities, as well as more fun features.
Like me, you might have wished for Spielberg’s first real game involvement to be a bit more… awesome. Hell, it should at least involve some epic adventure of some kind, right?
It’s not all bad though. If you ask me, the game looks pretty fun in the standard Wii style. You know, the one where you can just hang out and play easy games with your girlfriend. Wiifanboy doesn’t agree, saying “Perhaps we’ve been wearing our cranky pants too tightly, but the latest media from Steven Spielberg’s Wii project does not fill us with hope.”

Looks great, I can’t wait to try this out on my Wii.

I heard this game is going to be the first to use VR/Wii-head tracking. All of those blox are going to looking like they are actually flying at you face! Kick ass, Nintendo would be dumb not to include VR/Wii-headtracking as a feature in this game.

Why is everyone calling them B”L”oom Blox? The trailer specifically calls them Boom Blox. Is this some sort of typo that is perpetuating itself in the media?

@CanonBoy: I’m not sure actually. I wrote this post back in March of 2007. Perhaps the name changed?

Could have sworn The Dig, from LucasArts, was the first Spielberg game.

@ Jory - I remember that game and I thought you were correct so I checked Wikipedia. Here is what it said, “it is based on a story idea by Steven Spielberg and has writing credits for Spielberg”
