Run, it’s MTV and Microsoft!

Not to be outdone, it seems, MTV and Microsoft band together for a new music service. It’s called URGE. Apparently because they’re urging you to use it, no doubt by integrating it seamlessly into every other application Microsoft makes, as well as every MSN product in existence.

URGE is going to have an iTunes-style per-song structure as well as subscription pricing — leave it to Microsoft to just do everything.

Is this trouble for Apple?

I think the main problem they have is that they still don’t have a solid device. If they can get an “iPod” then it’s all over.
