Fake Steve Jobs Roundup

Frankly, I’m sort of over it.

The Unofficial Apple Weblog:

Everybody’s favorite anonymous Mac commentator might be a little closer to becoming not-so-anonymous. If you checked out Fake Steve Jobs’s site yesterday, you might have seen a short post about a marginally funny iPhone Haiku site. I’ve still got the post in my Google Reader, as you can see in the pic. Seems harmless, right?

New York Times:

For the last 14 months, high-tech insiders have been eating up the work of an anonymous blogger who assumed the persona of Steven P. Jobs, Apple?s chief executive and one of the world?s most famous businessmen.

MacWorld:

Welp, I?m glad to say that the Things Have Officially Gotten Out Of Hand light I bought on clearance from Radio Shack last year is working flawlessly. It started blinking a few months ago, just before the phone rang and I found myself speaking to The Wall Street Journal and being asked point-blank if I am The Fake Steve Jobs.

CNET News:

The writer of The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs appeared to break character Wednesday in decrying “invasions of privacy” that have the anonymous author rattled.

Apple 2.0:

The evidence is still circumstantial and we don’t have a signed confession, but the net seems to be drawing closer and it may be just a matter of days or even hours. We’ll get to the suspect’s name in a minute, but first…

And finally, Fake Steve himself:

Well it had to happen. Honestly I can’t believe it’s taken this long. But as you may have heard, I’ve been busted by a newspaper reporter. My cover has been blown. Guy named Brad Stone, who works for the New York Times. Have you heard of him?

In contrast, a weblog by Daniel Lyons (via), who also writes The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs. Number of times he’s mentioned “fake steve”: zero.
