About

I am a South Florida based artist, designer, new media scientist, technologist and chocolate milk aficionado.
I’ve been publishing on the web since at least 1995 — which is a good portion of my life, to be sure.
My technology focus is mostly centered around designing and organizing data. This includes technology business direction, consulting and other immersive techbiz behavior. While my involvement is more executive-oriented (some friends call me “suit”), I do enjoy creating simple and attractive web interfaces — practicing web standards.
In addition to my cute personal blog here, I write for The Apple Blog and Dine Magazine’s Food Blog.
One of the best complete albums of all time is Check Your Head, although the Richard D. James Album will change your life.
This photo of Kottke & family makes me want to settle down.
In addition to internet studies, I am rather passionate about science — especially theoretical physics — and spend a good amount of time reading on the subject. I like art, too.
I’ve been known to fly to a city just to go peruse a museum for the day.

Vocino.com acts as my own (public) space where I can get my ideas out, get feedback about them, and explore my interests in science, technology, art and culture. It runs Wordpress and a bunch of hacked up nonsense. Historically, it has moved from static HTML pages, to (the old school version of) Blogger, to MovableType, to WordPress, to Mephisto, to Wordpress.
Through the years I have gone through some crashes, hiccups and other badness that caused me to lose some entries. I wish I could get those back. It has made me a diligent backer-uper today.
Vocino.com’s primary fonts are Helvetica Neue and Lucida Grande, although they gracefully degrade if you don’t support them. The header image is Neutraface.
The icons are usually altered versions originally created by Mark James.
I use Freshbooks to invoice my happy clients.
Rocking no www, too.
